Veterinarian

We are a close-knit, intimate practice with a small-town feel. Winchester Pet Care Center focuses on the ideology of “family first.” We aim to provide high-quality service through our exceptional client education and personalized, comprehensive patient care options while fostering the pet/owner relationship. Our goal is for our clients to be well-informed pet owners and to empower owners with the knowledge and skills to provide the best care to their pets. We work with a disabled veterans group as well as partner with well-established rescues in the area.

We are a two-DVM team and growing! We see a very diverse and loyal group of clientele. Many of them have maintained long-standing relationships within the clinic for multiple generations. We emphasize the importance of work-life balance and always make sure we are taking care of our own!

Veterinary Technician

Our practice is excited to add another Veterinary Technician to our team! We are looking for an individual who is good at communicating, organization, and multi-tasking and who is ready to work in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate would have at least 6 months – 1-year previous experience in veterinary medicine.

Hours of operation: Monday – Friday 7a-6p & Saturday 8a-12p

*Required: 2 Saturdays each month*

Essential Functions:

  • Able to perform basic animal handling and restraint
  • Be able to position for radiographs accurately
  • Assist veterinarians in the practice of veterinary medicine and surgery
  • Perform in-hospital lab testing and prepare specimens for outside labs
  • Assist veterinarians in outpatient exams by taking histories, vital signs, and weights, as well as providing client education
  • Collect and prepare diagnostic samples
  • Anesthesia monitoring
  • Assist in maintaining practice equipment
  • Assist veterinarian performing surgery
  • Assist veterinarians in any other assigned tasks
  • Maintain cleanliness of the surgery suite, treatment area, and exam rooms for all surfaces.
  • Support DEA compliance as it relates to the role
  • Any other duties as assigned

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Ability to work on weekends
  • Previous veterinary medicine experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to lift patients and carry equipment up to 25 pounds; ability to lift patients or carry equipment over 25 pounds with assistance
  •  Practice OSHA safety techniques, including proper PPE
  • Computer skills, MS Office applications, etc.

Pay: From $17.00 per hour
